Two Flexible Communication Modes

When activating your PoCkit, you’ll have the choice between two powerful communication modes tailored to your needs:

Community Band Radio (CBR)

CBR mode gives you access to open, shared channels that can be used by anyone with a compatible PoCkit radio. Ideal for local events, neighbourhood coordination, or casual day-to-day communication, this mode encourages spontaneous and easy communication across over 150 groups. Because the channels are open, anyone on the same group can listen and talk, making it a simple and effective way to stay in touch without setup barriers. To help users connect more effectively across Australia, we've added 24 regional calling groups. These predefined zones make it easier to find and communicate with others nearby, without unnecessary interference from distant areas.

Private Mobile Radio (PMR)

For organizations or teams that need secure, closed-group communication, PMR mode allows your PoCkit radios to be configured into a dedicated private fleet. Only authorized users within the same fleet can join conversations, making this mode ideal for businesses, emergency services, and professional teams that require privacy, control, and coordinated operations. PMR mode offers enhanced security and structure while maintaining the simplicity of push-to-talk.
